A team ranked first in a person's poll would receive 25 points, while the team ranked twenty-fifth in a person's poll would receive 1 point. The team with the highest total of points from all ten polls was ranked #1, then the next highest #2, and so on until we reached 25 teams. The numbers in parentheses next to a team's name represent how many first place votes they received.<br /><br /> 3) There were a total of 40 teams that you guys voted for. The teams from 26-40 that did not make the Top 25 but received at least one point are listed under Others Receiving Votes at the bottom of the poll.<br /><br /> 4) I did detailed write ups <a href="http://www.michaelkorsoutletsv.com/michael-kors-shoulder-bags-c-11.html" class="external free" rel="nofollow">http://www.michaelkorsoutletsv.com/michael-kors-shoulder-bags-c-11.html</a> on the top five ranked teams. The top five teams will receive a detailed write up about their last game, while the other twenty teams will only have the score of their game reported.<br /><br /> Without further ado, here's the first ever RootZoo Top 25!<br /><br /> The Top 5:<br /><br /> 1. Georgia (6)- 240 Points<br /><br /> The Bulldogs closed last season strong, beating rivals Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech and destroyed Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl to cap off an 11-2 season that saw them in the national picture until the final day of the season. Losses last year to South Carolina and Tennessee ultimately doomed their SEC and National Title Hopes.<br /><br /> This year, the Bulldogs return a vast amount of talent from last year team, including quarterback Matt Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno who burst onto the scene in the second half of the season. The Bulldogs face a daunting schedule this year, with only six home games and a stretch of four games without a home game in October and November (@ LSU, vs. Florida in Jacksonville, @ Kentucky, @ Auburn). Ohio State- 228 Points<br /><br /> The Buckeyes last year came up short yet again against another national title game, this time against the SEC LSU Tigers. A loss to a very talented Illinois team that ended up in the Rose Bowl was the only blemish on the Buckeyes?regular season record while they bowled relatively easily through the rest of their regular season schedule.<br /><br /> This year, the Buckeyes return almost everyone from their national runner up team including running back Chris eanie?Wells and quarterback Todd Boeckman. This year, the Buckeyes again face another Pac-10 team on the road, though the opponent this year, USC, is certainly a step up in competition from the Washington team that the Buckeyes faced last year. Florida (2)- 226 Points<br /><br /> The Gators were the 2006 national champions, upsetting Ohio State in the national title game. After losing almost everyone, Florida went through a rebuilding year last year facing a difficult schedule that was not helped by a defense that never seemed to work. Losses to Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and Michigan in the Capital One Bowl, left the Gators sitting at 9-4 on the year.<br /><br /> For this season, Florida returns almost everyone from their team last year, with the two notable losses being Derrick Harvey who entered the NFL after his junior season and senior Andre Caldwell. Florida returns Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow as well as receiver/running back Percy Harvin. Florida faces another daunting schedule this year, including facing a rival in Miami and last year BCS surprise Hawaii in the first two games of the season. Oklahoma- 223 Points<br /><br /> The Sooners started strong last year before being undone by an upset lost in Boulder to Colorado. They then found themselves back in the national title picture, before being upset again by Texas Tech. The Sooners did win the Big 12 Championship Game against Missouri before losing to West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl.<br /><br /> This year, the Sooners return a large amount of talent from last year 11-3 team, including star quarterback Sam Bradford and running back Allen Patrick. The Sooners face a daunting non conference schedule, with games vs. Chattanooga, vs. Cincinnati of the Big East, @ Washington of the Pac-10, and vs. TCU, who is always a threat. The Sooners have six home games this year and the neutral site game against Texas in Dallas. USC (2)- 221 Points<br /><br /> The trojans entered last year with the hopes of another national title after the disappointing end to the 2006 season. They were undone by one of the biggest upsets in history, when they were beaten by Stanford and then they also lost to a very talented Oregon team led by quarterback Dennis Dixon. They capped off the season by beating Illinois in the Rose Bowl.<br /><br /> This year, the Trojans return several players, including running backs Stafon Johnson and Joe McKnight. They are breaking in a new starting quarterback in Mark Sanchez. They have six home games this season. The Trojans test themselves early, with games @ Virginia and vs. Ohio State in back to back games to open the season.
