Environment

Cortex Command truly mastered the technicalities of pixel art. With a completely destructible environment and the ability to build practically anywhere on the map, the possibilities are endless. The game has a natural destruction method. Too many games are built on an engine that "animates death". In cortex command death is as simple as "let the chips fall as they may" due to the free-form environment a soldier can die, naturally crumble on the floor, and remain there until footsteps and bullet blend him into the dirt. With the exception of the soldier who wouldn't want that!

System of Operations

The game manages to mix strategy and action at the same time with its well blended economy. Yes, economy. Even the best side scrolling shooters wont last a minute in Cortex Command's playground because you really have to get a steady income in order to buy your arsenal of destruction. The gold adds a very nice Real-Time Strategy twist to the game so even if you have no shooting skills whatsoever you can still find home.

Unmatched Physics

Intensity is a overwhelming attribute of this game. Due to realistic physics engine every moment of the game, it is do or die. If you shoot a Spaceship it does not simply make a explode animation and disappear. You have 20+ peices of pure spaceship remorse flying at you. You are going to wish you brought your riot shield!
