A few business items to handle first: 1) There were a total of ten polls cast, http://www.michaelkorsoutletsv.com/michael-kors-paillette-satchels-c-30.html so a team that was ranked first in all ten polls would receive 250 points and there were ten first place votes up for grabs. 2) Teams were scored from a 25-1 scale. A team ranked first in a person's poll would receive 25 points, while the team ranked twenty-fifth in a person's poll would receive 1 point. The team with the highest total of points from all ten polls was ranked #1, then the next highest #2, and so on until we reached 25 teams. The numbers in parentheses next to a team's name represent how many first place votes they received. 3) There were a total of 40 teams that you guys voted for. The teams from 26-40 that did not make the Top 25 but received at least one point are listed under Others Receiving Votes at the bottom of the poll. 4) I did detailed write ups http://www.michaelkorsoutletsv.com/michael-kors-shoulder-bags-c-11.html on the top five ranked teams. This will continue throughout the year. The top five teams will receive a detailed write up about their last game, while the other twenty teams will only have the score of their game reported. Without further ado, here's the first ever RootZoo Top 25! The Top 5: 1. Georgia (6)- 240 Points The Bulldogs closed last season strong, beating rivals Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech and destroyed Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl to cap off an 11-2 season that saw them in the national picture until the final day of the season. Losses last year to South Carolina and Tennessee ultimately doomed their SEC and National Title Hopes. This year, the Bulldogs return a vast amount of talent from last year team, including quarterback Matt Stafford and running back Knowshon Moreno who burst onto the scene in the second half of the season. The Bulldogs face a daunting schedule this year, with only six home games and a stretch of four games without a home game in October and November (@ LSU, vs. Florida in Jacksonville, @ Kentucky, @ Auburn). The Bulldogs also make the nonconference trip to Tempe to take on the Sun Devils of Arizona State. Georgia enters the season as the RootZoo Top 25 number one team, receiving si out of ten first place votes and a total of 240 points. Schedule: 8/30/08: vs. Georgia Southern 9/06/08: vs. Central Michigan 9/13/08: @ South Carolina 9/20/08: @ Arizona State 9/27/08: vs. Alabama 10/04/08: Bye Week 10/11/08: vs. Tennessee 10/18/08: vs. Vanderbilt 10/25/08: @ LSU 11/01/08: vs. Florida (in Jacksonville) 11/08/08: @ Kentucky 11/15/08: @ Auburn 11/22/08: Bye Week 11/29/08: vs. Georgia Tech 2. Ohio State- 228 Points The Buckeyes last year came up short yet again against another national title game, this time against the SEC LSU Tigers. A loss to a very talented Illinois team that ended up in the Rose Bowl was the only blemish on the Buckeyes?regular season record while they bowled relatively easily through the rest of their regular season schedule. This year, the Buckeyes return almost everyone from their national runner up team including running back Chris eanie?Wells and quarterback Todd Boeckman. This year, the Buckeyes again face another Pac-10 team on the road, though the opponent this year, USC, is certainly a step up in competition from the Washington team that the Buckeyes faced last year. The Buckeyes have seven home games this year, but do have to travel to Camp Randall to face the Wisconsin Badgers and they also have to travel to Illinois to face the Illini team that upset them last year in the Horseshoe. Ohio State enters the season ranked second in the RootZoo Top 25, despite receiving no first place votes, with a total of 228 points.
