City Council persons who vote in favor of any action in favor of the presently planned Monroe Project should be promptly arrested for Reckless Endangerment RCW 9A .36.050. Even aside from • the reduced/eliminated following distances between vehicles, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCv_MiaHDqYdg5SehmF_5Pxw • the hazardous and escalated challenges for snow and ice removal, • an icy or slippery hill WITH 2 CURVES IN IT that reduce visibility and make it impossible to detect or react to a gliding vehicle, or one that can't make it up the slippery hill and with gotten rid of lanes which someone could use to pass/avoid, • the elimination of additional lanes which might provide that last split-second opportunity to swerve over and prevent a collision or a passerby who jumps out, • the reduced/eliminated clear view/visibility which will make it nearly impossible for side-street drivers to see if there is an opening in traffic to merge or cross because bump-out parking and park benches and planters and trees that will totally obstruct clear view, • the fact that design engineers did not regroup, revise, amend their plans to account for lessons gained from the 17 August Barcelona Spain terror attack and look at CPTED options, . • the poor air quality caused by jam ups/idle/forced inefficient combustion, and slower air circulation/ventilation caused by slower [not moving] vehicles,. • annoyed and impatient pedestrians who see no opening or gaps in traffic and become more likely to take a chance or a risk,. • risk to public safety caused by increased road-rage incidents ... the EMS (Emergency Services) response time topic has not been done justice. The very extreme Fire Chief Schaeffer claims that the road diet will not substantially impact response times - which is perhaps somewhat true (but only for fire crews) because THERE ARE MULTIPLE FIRE STATIONS IN DIFFERENT NEIGHBORHOODS AND NOT A CENTRALLY LOCATED STATION!!! The Law Enforcement aspect of EMS response IS CENTRALLY LOCATED, and at/near the planned choke point of Monroe, which impacts Law Enforcement access to the entire North and Northeast sides of town. This applies to both City Police, County Sheriff, and State Patrol (who would likely enter Spokane from I-90 during a response). Likewise, AMR, the primary Ambulance service provider, is Centrally located at/very near the planned choke point of Monroe ... and will be similarly impacted as Law Enforcement. Kate Burke was included in this even though she is running for a seat on the council. Her views and methods are clearly the same as the rest of them. That's why they are supporting her campaign. To suggest that City planners accept Brian Schaeffer's comments/input as the 'EM S impact evaluation statement' is crooked and deceptive as hell, as Schaeffer can only speak for fire response and not ALL EMS entities - [even if Schaeffer wasn't a far left Socialist radical Thomas Linzey/CELDF supporter likely to lie for the cause, as confirmed by his political activism violating the integrity of his office, nevertheless, Law Enforcement entities and Ambulance response entities should provide THEIR OWN INPUT as to impact of the project on response times/public safety] At least one Law Enforcement entity, the Sheriff's Office, has in fact provided their own input, which is being dismissed/ignored. THIS CITY COUNCIL IS GOING TO GET PEOPLE KILLED!
