Items

There are a variety of items you can use as weapons, defense, or for convenience. Weapons can be deployable payloads or arbitrary code execution (ACE). Automated payloads have limited number of uses before a system is automatically patched for that particular exploit. Think of them as being weapons with ammunition.

Brute-force attack. All players start with this item. Can attack servers or players.

Only tool that can circumvent password prompt, without Social Engineering trait.

Damage Resistance to player.

Supplements firewall by attacking those who attack defenses.

Can only be installed by Network Administrator.

Must be updated periodically using hotfixes.

These are tools "bad" crackers.

• Social Engineer

Password prompts do not stop you.

• Corruption

Unoccupied servers can have their file systems ruined.

Red Hat

These are tools that everyone might want to use

• Script Kiddie +hit to deployable payloads
  • Trojan Specialization +Hit% to servers
  • Spyware Specialization +Hit% to players
    • Kernel Infection Chance on hit to infect player system files.
• Bug Tracker +hit with arbitrary code execution
• Deep Packet Inspection +DR to Playable Character

White Hat

These are the white knights.

• Root Access

Ability to enter server regardless of firewalling

• Network Engineer

Cracked firewalls can be repaired using Patch Tool.

• Workstation Technician

Able to identify amount of damage to playable characters

• Network Administrator

Can install server-side applications
