Nivea Duplicating Bio Oil

Nivea Firming Body Oil arrived not too long ago for evaluation and it quickly piqued my attention. I'm rather lax with body moisturisation at the best of times but if I'm going to force myself to hydrate my hide, an oil will probably be the best solution to get me to do it. A dry oil's better, clearly as it is non-oily and absorbs quicker, and a fast scan of the promotion and blurb for Nivea's new Firming Body Oil with Q10 Plus, 9.99 for 200ml, got me a lot more curious.

The Reason? Cos I think Nivea is jockeying itself right up on the shelf beside Bio Oil, and I think they need to rush right ahead of it too. You know, it could just do it as well. It's significant to note that is simply not a pure botanical oil if that's what you are searching for : basically, both products include mineral oil as their principal ingredient and then smaller amounts of botanicals and actives.

It simply means you can really use it in pregnancy on your bulge, but they are not guaranteeing anything. What they are claiming is a skin firming effect in two weeks. Nivea's not making a scar or stretch mark claim with Firming Body Oil, although it does have the words 'Recommended to massage stretch marks' on-the promotion -- which is essentially meaningless. Nivea's extra ingredients include Q10 (already used in its facial moisturisers) and avocado oil, that is a nicely moisturising ingredient.

As an example, Bio Oil boasts retinyl palmitate, a vitamin A derivative, which is one of the only real anti-agers any dermatologist or skin scientist will affirm actually works. It really is a less powerful, cheaper form of the retinol fixing we hear so much of in skin care, also it comes a bit down the ingredients list; but as a consequence Bio Oil has a proven track record with scars and stretch marks and has lots of studies to back up its claims.

So, what am I getting at here? Then this one is just as good; then I had say stick with it if you are using Bio Oil specially for scar reduction should you be using Bio Oil just as a body moisturiser. But for a daily dry oil body moisturiser that does the trick, Nivea is the cheaper alternative -- and also you get more in-the bottle.

The scent is agreeable - - it is just a little manufactured but grand - - plus crucially it passes the all-important Tights Test. You can utilize, it sinks in straight away as it's got a light, dry formulation, and there isn't any sweaty wrangling as you heave yourself into your opaques. So I was pleased by that also. Skin does feel softer and more easy, but when it comes to firming effect, the jury's still out.
